Magnetic Harbour construction site

The Magnetic Harbour project destroyed one-third of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and the Townsville-Whitsundays State Marine Park in Nelly Bay. The beach and foreshore was reclaimed to make the contruction of the canal estate residential development possible. The dredging of the access channel and marina basin destroyed a significant stretch of thriving fringing coral reef.
